I was doing some browsing of blogs and came across this post on www.theanimalrescuesite.com about 100 Husky sled dogs being slain after participating in the 2010 Winter Olympics. I really hate believing that these poor dogs were considered useless after enduring the 2010 Olympics. Was there really no one who cared enough to offer these dogs a different fate? How does stuff like this happen? Maybe we should all call Outdoor Adventures, the company that owned the dogs, and voice our disgust directly to them. You can read more about it here.
Please visit The Animal Rescue Site link. Read the whole story. And, most importantly, SIGN THE PETITION! We need to do whatever we can about these atrocities. Meanwhile, I'll take a moment to be grateful that so many people care about rescuing all my racing friends from the track. I know how much they suffer and endure during their racing careers, but at least many of them get to live out their lives in warm, loving homes. I could link every word in this post with Greyhound rescue organizations and not even put a dent in them. It makes me feel like there must have been somewhere for these dogs to turn to...
