Why adopt a Greyhound? Well, Twiggys asks, "why not?" - with a puffed up chest!
Greyhounds are wonderful pets. As fast as they are, most of them are actually pretty lazy. I've heard them referred to as the "fastest couch potato." That's definitely Twiggy. She spends most of her day napping and sunbathing and we usually have two spurts of energy expulsion each day. Whether that is made of walks or zoomies in the backyard - or both! - just depends on the day. I love when Twiggy "loses her mind" - that's what we call it when she zooms all over the place. She's so happy and cute when she's spazzing out. And Onyx has gotten so used to be run over that he now hides under the deck and shoots out once in a while to egg her on. Then, once she is done, he takes his turn to zoom around. A stubby little Pit mix doesn't quite have the elegance of a sleek, Greyhound, but he's adorable none the less.
There is no shortage of Greyhounds ready for adoption. They are friendly and even tempered. They are crate trained, which usually translates into easy house breaking. Many of them do just fine with cats and all of them love lazying around with their family! If you are thinking about adopting please consider a Greyhound, and if you are not thinking about adoption...well, consider it and think about a Greyhound!
