Pedigree is known for their support of rescue and shelter organizations and pets. The debacle from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show would be one the of the more recent exhibits of this. When asked to basically down play shelter support in their commercials they stood their ground and ended up severing ties with sponsorship of the event. I say, good for them for staying true to the company's roots.
From Pedigree's Write a Post, Help a Dog campaign, now in it's third year, they have donated 6.5 TONS of food to help feed shelter dogs from 650 blog posts! You can be a part of this campaign! To participate all you have to do is write a blog post by midnight ET on Saturday, June 30th. Yes that's today. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, eh? But, it doesn't take long to participate and you could just share this photo with a thanks to Pedigree. Oh and tweet it with #DogsRule too!
Well, that's a loaded question. At least for me. I can be inspired by the wind or an ant - they are pretty strong insects you know!
But, this last weekend, I was inspired by hundreds of pet bloggers who ascended on Salt Lake City for the 4th BlogPaws conference. I have a unique view of the conference and the community since I operate from the inside of the event, and sometimes I'm a bit jealous of all the attendees who just get to have fun and enjoy themselves, but I do have fun. Even when I'm running all over the place to make sure things run smoothly. I'm having fun. Don't let me convince you otherwise.
Getting back to the point. Inspiration. My problem has nothing to do with not being able to find inspiration. It's implementing the inspiration into action. If only I had a clone who could take action immediately when inspiration strikes. That would really make a difference. Instead, I find myself weaving in and out of inspiring moments, wishing I could make more of them and feeling in adequate for not letting them guide me towards wherever they might lead.
As someone who likes to have a few things when walking the dogs, this Tom Bihn bag certainly comes in handy. Usually I wear cargo pants and stuff the pockets, or if it's colder out a hoodie with pockets. I've even used my bra for holding things - sorry, TMI. :) When I saw this bag I was definitely intrigued because it seemed like a good size. Not too big, not too small. So, I gave it a go. Check it out. It is called their Citizen Canine bag:
They sent this bag to BlogPaws to check out, but did not ask for a review of it. I'm simply letting everyone know about it because I like it.
I wanted to share a few pictures of just how bad the High Park fire is that is burning west of Ft.Collins. The fire is about 45 miles northwest of me at its closest point. It's burning as far away as about 90 miles. Yesterday (when these pictures were taken) I woke up and it smelled like I was in the middle of a camp fire. Walking the dogs caused a lot of sneezing, and those with asthma and allergies are encouraged to stay indoors because of the smoke. I can't imagine what it looks like for people who live even closer to the fire.
Please keep all the people, pets and wild animals in your hearts. The fire is at around 46,600 acres and is only 10% contained as of this morning. There is no good rain in the forecast for the next few days. If you know a rain dance, please do it. Thank you.
I took these pictures just to the left of where the "Drag to change route" box is. I live near B and the fire's southeast corner is near A.
I've dabbled in yoga on and off for years. I'm always a happier person when I'm doing it on a regular basis and yet still have trouble keeping that regular basis up. I do enjoy sun salutations with my dogs though. They watch, intrigued at what I am doing, and then get excited every time I end up in downward facing dog. I smile each time as I see the "it's playtime?" look appear on their face as they cock their head to the side.
At BlogPaws this year, we are having yoga classes and our dogs are invited to attend with us. Yay! I've heard of this and actually know some people who've taken Doga. I don't think the yoga at BlogPaws will be quite like that, but I'm looking forward to it. Unfotunately, Twiggy won't be making the trip this year, so her flat self will have to be a good substitute. Onyx, well, I'm leaning towards bring ing him as of this day and time so maybe he'll get a chance at doga with me. If not, I'll be traveling with 2 flat pets and will just have to take pictures of the doga with them!
If you are coming to BlogPaws be sure to find me and say hi. Hopefully this video helps you to recognize me. I'll be recording at least one Tout per day up to the conference. It will your inside look at what it's like to plan BlogPaws!
Hop on over to BlogPaws to see the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop!
