The BlogPaws Blogger Disaster Response Network has been activated. In conjunction with World Vets and their efforts to provide relief to the devastation in The Philippines, I am sharing the info-graphic created by World Vets to share information about the tragedy and how you can help. The Power of One: Paws For The Philippines.
Like many, I've seen images that are etched into my mind's eye and that hurt my heart to see. So many people have lost their lives. So many more are fighting for survival, and so many pets are left lost and searching for comfort.
Plus, I know that most of us, no matter how much we see on TV, can't really comprehend the situation in The Philippines. We only get to see what the National news covers, or read the stories we find when we scour the internet for more information. It does not paint the whole picture, but it leaves me thinking about all the people and pets who are feel like they've been ripped from their lives and awoken into a nightmare. Being in Colorado and right by all the flooding that we experienced back in September really brought that fact to my attention. What our local news covered, and the stories we heard from family and friends, was never reported. The news that most of the world saw was an abbreviated version of the true events and circumstances. Things we are still dealing with two month later.
Knowing how long recovery is taking Colorado, a place where we had the National Guard responding right away and thousands of volunteers helping, makes me hurt for The Philippines. Their devastation is more wide spread, and they have less ability to get to more areas with many more people affected.
Please take a moment to learn how you can help and share this info-graphic.
