No, I don't want to put a condiment on a bunch of Greyhounds. I simply love them. :) Twiggy is the first pure Greyhound I have ever had the pleasure to raise, and a pleasure it has not always been. As a youngster she was stubborn and had many issues including separation anxiety, but I love her to bits none the less. She has the sweetest personality and LOVES everyone. Especially children whose faces are the perfect height for lots of licks.
I've said before (in previous posts about my early Twiggy struggles) that Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) truly helped me keep my sanity. I had never dealt with a dog with so many issues and they made me realize I was doing the right things and just needed to be patient and keep doing it. Thank goodness! Twiggy has turned out to be a great dog...mostly. :)
The beginning of January tends to be a time for reflection. A time for resolving to do things better or different in the coming year. I definitely added a few things to my To Do list for 2013. One personal one is to listen more; to my family; to my body; to my mind; to my heart. And a blogging on is to Tout more.
If you are not familiar with Tout, it's an app that allows you to record short 15 second videos and uploads them right away to share through Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I really enjoy it because 15 seconds is just long enough to get a point across. If you saw my Happy New Year post you got to preview a few recent Touts I did over New Year's Eve and day. Here are few I did throughout 2012. Hopefully 2013 will bring many more! Best wishes to all in 2013!
Secret Santa's are most fun when you truly have no idea who is buying you a gift, and I got to experience that for the first time in a long time this year.
I actually don't even quite remember how I found out about the Furry Friends Secret Santa. I'm pretty sure it was during the big Surprise #BlogPawty. It was definitely during a Twitter pawty. I got a tweet from @ff_secretsanta letting me know about the event and inviting me to find out more. I did just that and a handful of other anipals did too.
It was fun and I think more anipals should participate next year. We gave our Twitter handles and we could even provide a little list of things on our wish list and/or things to avoid. For me it was anything made in China. No China for us please. We ended up with treats, toys and handmade bandanas - pawesome!!
Yes, that's right. We've got a Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Harness and an Auto Zip Leash Line to give away this week. Both Twiggy and Onyx have Kurgo harnesses. You can read here about my initial review and test of a Kurgo harness on Twiggy. Being a Greyhound with such delicate skin it was rather hard to find a harness that did not rub her wrong and create sores. I was very happy with Kurgo's harness, and their dedication to safety, that I bought one for Onyx too.
Lucky for all of you, I accidentally bought two! I meant to buy a harness and a zip line, which I use in my car to keep them both tethered and safe while we ride. Instead I bought two packages that each came with a harness and a zip line. I could just return the second set, but I thought it would be much more fun to give away the set here!
Wookie is currently at the Longmont Humane Society waiting for his forever home. They are partnering with Colorado Pit Bull Rescue to find Wookie his forever home. He is a special dog. Click here to find out more about him!
