No, I don't want to put a condiment on a bunch of Greyhounds. I simply love them. :) Twiggy is the first pure Greyhound I have ever had the pleasure to raise, and a pleasure it has not always been. As a youngster she was stubborn and had many issues including separation anxiety, but I love her to bits none the less. She has the sweetest personality and LOVES everyone. Especially children whose faces are the perfect height for lots of licks.
I've said before (in previous posts about my early Twiggy struggles) that Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) truly helped me keep my sanity. I had never dealt with a dog with so many issues and they made me realize I was doing the right things and just needed to be patient and keep doing it. Thank goodness! Twiggy has turned out to be a great dog...mostly. :)
I have a few words this Wordless Wednesday. First, how is it March 20th? I seriously do not know where the last 2 weeks have gone. Second, I'm finally sharing a bit of good news, and I will have more of an update to follow soon. Dre, who spent 49 days away from his family with the threat of euthanasia for being "vicious", just passed his Canine Good Citizen with flying colors! Dre is so far from vicious. He is a loving, loyal family pet who will wear the CGC badge with pride from now on. Go Dre!
Yes, I know, it's not Friday. It's Saturday. I can't seem to keep up with the days lately, so we're doing a Faith Friday update on Saturday. This week is really just to let everyone know that Faith continues to settle into her new home and play with her fur-sisters. She had another hydrotherapy appointment that went well, considering Faith was pretty tired after a few days in doggie daycare with her rescue. The therapist said Faith was moving in time the way she should be, even though she was tired, so that is a good thing. Look at her. She's saying, "Am I done yet?" :)
I'm in the car buying business right now. I have been since early January. Car buying this time around is a slow process. It's not that I'm unhappy with my car. I've just decided I'd like a lower payment and better gas mileage. I do a lot of driving these days and filling up twice a week is just not acceptable.
So, without knowing a thing, my husband sends me a text asking me if I got the email with the Subaru. The email contained a picture of a 2013 Subaru XV that he just happened to see on the road. The text proof:
I feel like I should still be sleeping. I'm pretty sure I would need to sleep for at least 2 days to feel rested after the whirlwind of Global Pet Expo! I would be surprised if anyone who attended feels otherwise.
As I go through all my business cards and notes so I can tell everyone about some the great new products I found, I wanted to share with you some of the videos of the BlogPaws Best for 2013 that we did. We awarded 25 BlogPaws Best at Global this year. Most went to products, but we did award one to the American Pet Products Association's President, Bob Vetere, for being a Leader in the Pet Industry.
Bob carries a certain presence when he walks in the room. His stature commands attention and respect, but his demeanor is 100% approachable and friendly. Everyone in the Pet Industry is important to Bob, and you can tell that just by his presence. The value of those qualities travel further than even Bob probably realizes. I'm very honored that I get to work with him at Global each year and through the PAL Campaign that BlogPaws has been a part of for the last couple years.
Enjoy Bob's videos and a few others. More to come!
Seems like no matter how I try to prepare for all the walking at Global, I always end up with blisters. Oh well. They're not that bad and I actually only registered 4004 steps on my pedometer today. I did start wearing it mid-morning because it had to charge, but that's still less than I expected. We'll see what tomorrow's total is after giving out our BlogPaws Best Awards for 2013.
There are definitely some, cool new products here and some great product stories. One of my favorite involved a young girl who decided she wanted a specific toy for her hamster, so she made it! I love stories like that.
I also love products like these...there is definitely a pattern here at Global! Stay tuned for the BlogPaws Best. We'll be announcing them tomorrow on our Tout channel.
Wookie is currently at the Longmont Humane Society waiting for his forever home. They are partnering with Colorado Pit Bull Rescue to find Wookie his forever home. He is a special dog. Click here to find out more about him!
